Apply Now

Are you a distinguished academic involved in Quantum Internet research? Cisco's Research is actively engaged in designing and building a practical and efficient quantum network, a cornerstone technology for the future Quantum Internet. Our team comprises scientists and engineers dedicated to advancing the forefront of quantum networking, with a particular emphasis on dynamic quantum entanglement distribution networks. In line with our vision, we are actively seeking proposals to explore various aspects of quantum entanglement distribution networks, spanning quantum hardware, software, applications, and use cases. Key areas of interest include:

  • Quantum networks for distributed quantum computing
  • Quantum networks for distributed quantum sensing
  • Designing architecture, protocols, and control methods for dynamic quantum entanglement networks, with a focus on distributed computing and sensing
  • Development of hardware systems, subsystems, components, and experimental methods for establishing dynamically switched quantum entanglement networks
  • Development of modeling tools for simulating practical quantum entanglement networks
  • Development of algorithms and tools for a network aware distributed quantum computing compiler

Proposal Submission:

After a preliminary review, we may ask you to revise and resubmit your proposal. RFPs may be withdrawn as research proposals are funded, or interest in the specific topic is satisfied. Researchers should plan to submit their proposals as soon as possible.
