Quantum networks for distributed quantum computing and distributed quantum sensing
    Invitation Code: RFP-26-03

Are you a distinguished academic involved in Quantum Internet research? Cisco Research is actively engaged in designing and building a practical and efficient quantum network, a cornerstone technology for the future Quantum Internet. Our team is comprised of scientists and engineers dedicated to advancing the forefront of quantum networking, with a particular emphasis on dynamic quantum entanglement distribution networks.

Aligned with our vision, we are actively seeking proposals to advance the field of quantum networks for distributed quantum computing and distributed quantum sensing. We invite exploration across a range of topics, including quantum entanglement distribution networks, quantum hardware, software, applications, and use cases. Key areas of interest include:

    • Designing architectures and protocols for dynamic quantum entanglement networks to support distributed quantum computing and distributed quantum sensing

    • Developing hardware systems, subsystems, components, and experimental methods for dynamically switching and interconnecting quantum computers and/or quantum sensors within quantum entanglement networks

    • Developing network-aware algorithms, heuristics, and protocols for entanglement distillation, distributed error correction, and circuit partitioning

    • Developing modeling, simulation, and emulation tools to study dynamic quantum entanglement networks in distributed quantum computing and sensing applications.

    Proposal Submission:

After a preliminary review, we may ask you to revise and resubmit your proposal. RFPs maybe be withdrawn as research proposals are funded, or interest in the specific topic is satisfied. Researchers should plan to submit their proposals as soon as possible.

    Constraints and other information

IPR will stay with the university. Cisco expects customary scholarly dissemination of results and hopes that promising results would be made available to the community without limiting licenses, royalties, or other encumbrances.
